When plugged into a suitable USB-2 high speed charger (not a normal USB 5V charger) then this does the job. It charged up my iPhone 8 with no issues at all. It does get a bit warm which is normal due to the inefficiencies of this method of charging. It stops any wear and tear of continually plugging and unplugging a normal power lead into your phone (if your phone has near field charging). Okay so I missed the small print about it needing a high speed power adapter as it has the word 'Charger' in its title. Its really a charging lead rather than a charger.
