Getting the combo of 3rd party SIM and device settings took two people a while but it's now running wel!

Great idea but it's not for everyone.
Firstly I bought this as I had a spare sim card which had a few months left to run so instead of wasting it I bought this device to use it at work.
I looked online and it stated the sim card would work.
After hours of trawling the Internet and reading the horrendous instructions I managed to get through to an advisor who insisted the sim card would infact not work on this device as it wasn't a data only plan. They asked for me to send it back but unfortunately I'd cracked the back plastic so couldn't return it.
I contacted Vodafone and they said it should work despite it being not a data only plan.
I found a forum online which said it could be a scratched connector which I identified and guess what, the sim card worked perfectly. So despite not knowing their own equipment I managed to get it to work.
I would of liked a better model now as I've seen one online which is smaller and better than this device but I'm stuck with this as I can't send it back.
On a positive note, the device works great now and has helped me at work.

This is a good device, but setup isn't straight forward mainly due to the manual.
The tiny text and illustrations are so small that's it's near impossible to see - even with glasses.
Adding a SIM and SD is a little awkward, but once installed you leave alone.
Once you've activated a SIM of your choice, you'll need to access a control panel by typing a special address into your search engine. This will bring up various tools to activate your registered SIM.
Once things are up & running it works really well if the area has a good signal. A SIM contract works out cheaper if you're going to use it all the time, but for holiday use, a pay as you go could be better.
So, overall it works well, but not exactly easy to setup.
