What is a memory card reader?
Memory card readers are easy-to-use devices that allow you to effortlessly access photos and video data on a memory card and transfer it directly to your computer.
How to use a memory card reader
To use a memory card reader, you simply need to take the memory card out of your device, insert it into the reader and then connect the reader via an open USB port to your PC or MAC computer. Once connected, you will be able to directly access all of the information on the memory card, edit it, then save on your computer or re-save to your digital camera memory card.
You should never disconnect the memory card reader whilst transferring data to your computer, as this can lead to loss of files and corruption to the memory card.
What are the benefits of using a memory card reader?
One of the biggest benefits of using an external reader is that memory cards can be read directly on your computer, without having to attach your device. This makes using and storing memory cards much simpler, and takes the strain off your device’s battery life.
