DDR (double data rate) SDRAM memory is a new high performance type of memory that supports data transfers on both edges of each clock cycle, effectively doubling the memory chip's data throughput enabling it to run at twice the speed of normal SDRAM.
DDR memory technology is not backward-compatible with SDRAM and requires motherboards and systems specifically designed for DDR.

WARNING: Electro Static Discharge or ESD can damage electronic components such as memory. Before installing your memory, discharge any static electricity by grounding yourself to a metal object, such as the casing on your computer. An anti-static wrist strap is recommended for additional safety.
