Micro SD cards were originally introduced as TransFlash cards, as an ultra-small, semi-removable memory card for mobile phones, when Motorola concluded SD cards were too big for their devices. Because of their compact design, Micro SD cards are now extremely popular in a host of smartphones and smaller digital devices, offering an expanded memory capacity for music, videos, photos and other data.
Since the original Micro SD cards were released the capacity has expanded greatly, and you may find it difficult to find a purely Micro SD card. That’s because their size is very limited, and they have been superseded by the larger capacity Micro SDHC and Micro SDXC. However, Micro SD cards offer better value for money, and are available at MyMemory from a host of brands, including Toshiba, Kingston, SanDisk, Integral and Lexar.
Use our Memory Selector or check your product manual to ensure the compatibility of your device with a Micro SD card. We also have Micro SD adapter cards available, which convert Micro SD cards to standard SD cards.
