How do portable chargers work?
Portable chargers have a variety of different names, including battery packs, power banks, fuel banks, and backup charging devices. But while the names vary, all of these products achieve the same thing: allowing you to charge your device without requiring access to a power socket.Portable mobile phone chargers typically incorporate at least one connection point that allows you to plug in a charger cable. Some will feature multiple connections, making them compatible with several types of charger (e.g. micro USB, mini USB and Apple Dock).
How to charge your portable charger
Sadly, portable mobile phone chargers don’t simply top themselves up when not in use. However, they are generally very easy to recharge. Simply plug the cable that comes with your portable charger into the input port, then attach the other end - usually a standard USB connection - to a power source such as a wall socket.Battery pack inputs range from 1-2.4 amps. This is a measure of electrical current; the higher the number, the faster the device will charge. Wall chargers typically deliver 2.4 amps, but if you need your portable charger in a hurry it’s worth checking the wall charger (as a 1-amp charger could take twice as long as a 2.4-amp charger).
