That time has come again. Another year, another GoPro to add to the roster of the ever-expanding line-up of the action camera company.

Just like GoPro’s, memory cards get updated on a regular basis too – faster speeds, higher capacities, new class specifications etc… It’s hard to keep up.

Well luckily for you, we’re here to help. Below you’ll find a summary of the new features the GoPro Hero 6 has as well as our top picks of the best Memory Cards to choose from to get the most out of your new action cam.

GoPro Hero6 – What’s new?

Well first of all, we’re firm believers that visual aid is a much better representation of showing you what cameras are capable of doing instead of describing it to you, so here’s a video:

As we can expect, the Hero6 isn’t a huge departure from the Hero5, which was only released a year ago. There are some key improvements however, first and foremost the video and sound quality has had a much noticed upgrade.

Shooting at true 4K, the videos you record are guaranteed to pick up every minute detail you’re recording, be it from 10,000 feet or 10,000 fathoms.

Next is the stabilisation. The comparisons between the two cameras showed a huge difference in the stability. The HERO6 is just super smooth, whereas the HERO5 still shows wobble at times.

Stabilisation on the HERO5 is only available in 2.7K resolution, introducing a 10% crop to the image. For the HERO6 though, that improved stabilization is available in 4K resolution (although not at 60p) with only a 5% crop factor.

Other key details include an all-new touch zoom, 3x faster offload speeds via 5GHz wi-fi, waterproof up to 33 Feet, voice control in 10 languages and with QuikStories enabled, you can automatically transform your adventures into cinematic videos that you can share easily through the GoPro app.
