Unless you’ve been living under a rock the past two months, you’ll know that the Nintendo Switch has been released today (Friday 3rd March)
The hype surrounding this revolutionary machine has been nothing short of huge. Reviews have been pouring in with the majority praising it’s innovation whilst staying true to Nintendo’s vision, however, there is one drawback – the storage.
The Nintendo Switch comes with a measly 32GB of storage, 6GB of which is required to install the software, so essentially you’re left with less than 28GB of actual storage for games – whilst this is all fine and well if you intend on using the games cartridges, it’s not so great if you want to start downloading apps or digitally downloading games…
…But fear not! In true Nintendo fashion, they anticipated this and have fitted the Switch with a MicroSD card to expand the storage (Hooray!) – “But which card do I buy?” I hear you ask – Don’t worry; I’ve got you covered…
There’s no denying that SanDisk do memory cards and they do them well. SanDisk Ultra microSDHC/microSDXC UHS-I cards are a great choice for Android-powered devices and other smartphones and tablets, which in turn means it’s a great choice for the Nintendo Switch. With SanDisk Ultra microSD UHS-I cards you’ll benefit from faster downloads, higher capacity, and better performance to capture and store up to 128GB of high quality pictures, games, apps and Full HD video, perfect if you plan on travelling with your Nintendo Switch and you need some 1080p in-flight entertainment. This card gives you transfer speeds of up to 80MB/s and high quality performance at an affordable price.
If you’re not too bothered on maximising the external space on your Nintendo Switch, or if you intend on buying the games cartridges and not digitally downloading your games, this one is probably the best one for you. It’s got 64GB of memory, which is double the GBs the Switch comes with, and at £24.99, it’s a bargain. This card would be useful to download additional apps, such as streaming service Netflix, or downloading full 1080p films to watch on the go.
Samsung’s high-performance, stylish and secure memory cards ensure that every shot you take is captured and kept safe and secure. EVO Plus cards offer greater capacity and higher transfer speeds, making it excellent for downloading high capacity apps and games for the Nintendo Switch.
