Lexar has announced the first-ever 1TB SDXC memory card, known as the Professional 633x.

During this years CES, Lexar, a leading global brand of flash memory solutions, unveiled the new Lexar Professional 633x SDXC UHS-I card with a staggering 1 terabyte of memory.

Unlike SanDisk’s unveiling of a prototype model of the 4TB USB-C Flash Drive, you can expect to see Lexar’s latest SD card on sale very soon.

The mammoth 1TB memory card is aimed to target individuals who own a mid-range DSLR camera, HD camcorder, or 3D camera. If you find yourself shooting a lot of high-definition content but are tired of having to stop shooting to change cards when one is full, then this product is for you. The brand’s latest card supplies you with the space you need to be able to shoot more content and ensure you capture all the action.

The product supports read speeds of up to 95MB/s, allowing you to quickly capture high-quality photos and stunning 1080p full HD, 3D and 4K video. Alongside transferring files from your card to your computer at a rapid-speed to ‘dramatically accelerate workflow’.

In addition to this, this Class 10 card takes advantage of UHS-I technology to obtain high-speed performance to capture the shot you want.

Senior Marketing Manager of Lexar, Joey Lopez, discusses:

“Almost fifteen years ago, Lexar announced a 1GB SD™ card. Today, we are excited to announce 1TB of storage capacity in the same convenient form factor. As consumers continue to demand greater storage for their cameras, the combination of high-speed performance with a 1TB option now offers a solution for content creators who shoot large volumes of high-resolution images and 4K video.”

This clearly demonstrates the staggering progress happening in flash memory storage. Back in 2016, competitor SanDisk was actually the first to announce a 1TB SDXC card. However, that card never made it into production and paved the way for other brands to take over.
