Chinese electronics company Anker is a global leader in charging technology, producing some of the quickest and highest-quality chargers in todays market.
During CES 2019, the company announced that their first device from their latest line of ultrafast chargers, the PowerPort Atom series, will be available to order later on this month. Anker has claimed that the device, known as the PowerPort Atom PD 1, is the ‘worlds smallest Power Delivery wall charger’.
The product was initially unveiled at an event in New York last autumn but was postponed for a few months. The company have now announced that it will be ready to buy later this January.

The compact charger is the size of a standard phone charger thanks to Gallium nitride (GaN). Gallium nitride allows components to be made much smaller and is soon becoming the next version of silicon.
The Atom PD 1 will be joining Anker’s newest slimline group of chargers, which is set to include a 60W dual USB-C port Atom PD 2 charger, 100W dual USB-C charger, and a dual USB-A port Atom PD 4 charger.
Despite the chargers much small sizer, the PowerPort Atom PD 1 should be able to charge a multitude of devices at a much faster speed. Anker has stated that users will be able to charge to 50% of the battery capacity in just a short 30 minutes.
