Last week the 2 millionth Raspberry Pi was sold, the charity behind the worlds favourite micro computer has revealed.

Originally designed to help children get their foot in the computer programming door, the Raspberry Pi has far exceeded it’s expected reach. Taking 12 months to sell the first million, it’s creators expected at least another 12 months to sell the second, but the community had other plans.

“We never thought we’d be where we are today when we started this journey: it’s down to you, our amazing community, and we’re very, very lucky to have you. Thanks!”

Do you own a Raspberry Pi? Would you consider owning one in the future? Why not let us know over on our Facebook page?
