Zombies to make return in Call of Duty: Black Ops30 September 2010 15:30:39
Call of Duty: Black Ops, an upcoming game for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and PC will bring back the zombie mode seen in previous instalments of the series.
Activision has confirmed that the zombie-feature will return in the game's multi-player mode, following longstanding speculation among fans of the series.
Zombies first appeared in Call of Duty: World at War and became an instant fan favourite.
It sees players defend themselves from waves of zombie soldiers.
"Zombies have been such a hit with our community that we were committed to bringing brand new zombie experiences to Call of Duty: Black Ops," said Mark Lamia, head of developer Treyarch Studio.
"We've taken extra special care to retain the essential ingredients of our Zombie game, and have also crafted a nice surprise for the fans."
Call of Duty: Black Ops will be released worldwide on November 9th.

A new game based on the American racing series Nascar is to be released on the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii.
Nascar the Game 2011 will be released in February next year, publisher Activision has announced.
Its makers claim the game was built from the ground up to create an entirely original and realistic gaming experience.
Players can compete in the Nascar Sprint Cup Series Championship either as themselves or as one of the sport's real-world drivers.
The other competitors are all modelled on actual Nascar drivesr and are programmed to exhibit their same skills and characteristics.
As an officially licensed game, it features the 22 real-life tracks of the Nascar season, as well as authentic damage simulation and pit stops.
"While Nascar has enjoyed a rich history in video games, we really wanted to take the next generation of Nascar games to a new level," said Blake Davidson, managing director of licensed products at Nascar.
It follows the recent release of Formula One based game F1 2010.
Backdraft to be released on Blu-Ray30 September 2010 15:23:18
A special Blu-Ray edition of the 1991 film Backdraft is to be released to celebrate the movie's anniversary, it has been announced.
Universal has confirmed that the Blu-Ray version will be released on January 4th next year and will feature a range of bonus material.
This includes an introduction by director Ron Howard, a number of deleted scenes that did not make the final cut of the original movie and a number of 'making of' films.
The technical specs for the disc reveal the movie will be presented in full 1080p HD video and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound on a BD-50 (50 gigabyte dual-layered) Blu-Ray Disc.
Starring Kurt Russell, William Baldwin, Robert De Niro, and Donald Sutherland, Backdraft is an action thriller about firefighters in Chicago on the trail of a serial arsonist who sets fires with a fictional chemical substance, trychtichlorate.
The film was nominated for three Academy Awards.
