Griffin unveils PartyDock iPad accessory31 August 2010 15:35:51
A new iPad acessory has been unveiled by technology company Griffin.
The firm has officially announced that it is bringing out a new device called the PartyDock after the accessory was leaked thanks to a filing the company made with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
"Thanks to our FCC filing yesterday, the cat's out of the bag on our new PartyDock media and game dock for the iPad and iPhone 4," the company said on its website.
The PartyDock is an iPad that also turns the device into a games console.
iPad users can use the dock to hold the device vertically, while charging it at the same time, and play games using four simple wireless controllers that come with the dock.
It can also be used to watch movies and videos and is designed to work with YouTube clips.
It also comes with three pre-installed mini games for users to enjoy and, according to Griffin, is very simple to set up.
Earlier this month, Griffin unveiled a new range of accessories for the iPhone 4.
Four Lions released on Blu-Ray31 August 2010 15:33:31
Controversial satirical comedy Four Lions has been released on Blu-Ray and DVD this week.
Directed and co-written by Chris Morris, known as the creator of the Brass Eye series, Four Lions is a comedy centred around a group of young British Muslim men who decide to become suicide bombers.
However, their efforts quickly descend into farce and culminate with them attempting to blow themselves up at the London Marathon.
The film has been warmly received by critics who have praised its ability to satirise a difficult subject.
"Morris has often evoked Dad's Army when describing his feature debut ... and the comparisons are easy to see," commented Phelim O'Neill in the Guardian.
"But Monty Python's Life of Brian is perhaps a better reference, since this, too, is a dissection of absurd human behaviour rather than an attack on ideology."
Extras on the Blu-Ray include deleted scenes, background material, behind the scenes footage and a cast interview.
Other films out on Blu-Ray this week include Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's Cemetary Junction and John Cusack comedy Hot Tub Time Machine.
Wii Party to come with Wii Remote31 August 2010 15:32:24
Nintendo has announced that its upcoming Wii Party collection will come bundled with a Wii Remote controller.
Due out on October, 8th, Wii Party is a collection of 80 mini-games in the same vein as Wii Sports and Wii Play, aiming to bring fun and family-friendly games to the console.
"The inventive game offers non-stop fun and unparalleled variety as you, your family and friends grab up to four Wii Remotes and try your hand at a host of inventive and intuitive gaming experiences," said a Nintendo statement.
Wii Party will also introduce the innovative new House Party range of games.
Here players will interact with their surroundings as part of the game.
For example, in Hide n Hunt, one player hides the Wii Remote somewhere in the room, for the other players to find, using noises emitted from the controller.
It was recently announced that a Doctor Who game is to be released on the Wii, as well as the Nintendo DS.
