More affordable SSD Drive by 2010

More affordable SSD Drive by 201027 May 2009 16:03:07

It is predicted that by 2010 the SSD Drive will be more affordable and reaching over 1TB in size.

SSD Drives are doubling in capacity every year and with flash material costs steadily decreasing by 50% a year, it means the Solid State Drive is getting cheaper by the minute.

Netbooks are a big part of SSD Drive sales and represent the fastest growing PC segment in 2009. It is predicted that over the next few years the SSD will become more affordable and continue to become more popular in markets such as PC and Mobile PC technology.

Already this year Toshiba’s Digital Products Division announced its latest laptop configured with a 512GB Solid State Drive for the Portégé R600-ST4203. Toshiba’s newest development shows its aim at pushing innovation as it has increased SSD capacities on laptops from 32GB to 512GB in two years.

Rich Heye, senior vice president and general manager for solid-state drives at SanDisk, said in a statement, "With the significant improvements in performance, capacity and low pricing, these SSDs are a perfect fit for the exploding Netbook market." And with the arrival of the 1TB SSD drive from pureSilicon at the CES 2009 this year, it is likely that we will soon be seeing Netbooks and other devices with increasing capacities of SSD Memory.

Who You Gonna Call? Ghostbusters! 7 May 2009 15:52:49

Atari has confirmed the release dates for Ghostbusters: The Video Game.

Atari confirmed yesterday that Ghostbusters The Video Game will launch on June 16th for the PC, Playstation 3, Playstation 2, Wii, and Nintendo DS in North American. The PS3 and PS2 versions will launch in Europe on June 19th.

This launch comes on the 25th anniversary of the first movie, along with the arrival of the original Ghostbusters on Blu-Ray.

The most exciting thing about the game is the fact that the original Ghostbusters, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson have reunited to play the voices of the original characters.

With Manhattan newly overrun by ghosts and other supernatural creatures, it's up to you to take on the role of a new recruit joining the original, famous Ghostbusters team. Equipped with a variety of unique weapons and gadgets, you will hunt, fight and capture a wide range of uncanny phantasms and demons in an all-new, funny and frightening battle to save New York City from its latest paranormal plague.

A PSP version of the game is also scheduled for worldwide launch in autumn 2009. For more information about Ghostbusters: The Video Game visit www.ghostbustersgame.com
