BlizzCon 'closed by Foo Fighters'29 September 2011 13:33:16
Blizzard Entertainment has announced that this year's annual gaming conference, BlizConn, will be closed by a performance from the Foo Fighters.
The event takes place at the Anaheim Convention Center on October 21st to 22nd and is a sell-out, although UK fans without a ticket can still watch the event live on the internet.
This will be Foo Fighter frontman Dave Grohl's second appearance at the convention, having played drums for Tenacious D last year.
"There's no better way to cap off two days of gaming entertainment than by blowing the roof off the convention centre with an awesome rock concert," said Mike Morhaime, chief executive and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment.
BlizzCon features an array of gaming activities, such as discussion panels, tournaments and the opportunity to see upcoming Blizzard Entertainment releases.
The games manufacturer is responsible for World of Warcraft. The third expansion of the massive multiplayer online game set a new PC game record by selling over 4.7 million in its first month of release in January this year. The title has spawned a host of gaming accessories.
