SanDisk 'can keep data safe for 100 years'20 October 2011 12:04:55
SanDisk has given industry experts a full demonstration of its new Memory Vault product.
The exhibition at this year's GITEX portrayed the vault's ability to store photos safely for over 100 years.
SanDisk's regional sales director for the Middle East and Africa Tareq Husseini said: "The device serves as an ideal partner for photography enthusiasts, who can now work hassle-free with their data safely stored."
The makers claim the Memory Vault is truly cutting edge because unlike a hard drive it has no moving parts and it utilises key elements of advanced solid-state storage to ensure a durable and portable memory solution.
Photographers or people looking for reliable data storage can get the Memory Vault in either 8GB or 16GB versions.
In addition to the Memory Vault, SanDisk also spoke about a high performance SD card at GITEX.
The card incorporates the industry's quickest write speeds and the company believes it would suit top-end cameras perfectly.
