OCZ introduces high-capacity SSDs25 May 2010 15:43:59
Memory technology firm OCZ has introduced a two new high-capacity SSDs.
The Vertex 2 and Agility 2 drives both feature a SATA II interface in a 2.5 inch form factor and come with 400GB and 480GB of storage respectively.
This is over double the storage capacities of the existing models, meaning customers can now get the benefit of the faster information transfer speeds associated with SSDs without limiting memory space.
"Solid State Drives have long delivered on exceptional performance and reliability but capacity has been a barrier to adoption for some clients," said Ryan Petersen, OCZ chief executive.
"Our new high capacity models give customers up to 480GB of storage space allowing them to enjoy all the benefits of SSDs with plenty of room for even the largest applications and files."
The new SSDs come with 250MB/s read and 240MB/s write speeds and TRIM support for Windows 7 systems.
Earlier this month, OCZ released a portable SSD drive that uses the latest SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface.
