Samsung Galaxy R 'has multiple uses'25 July 2011 15:25:37
Memory cards could soon be in use with the Samsung Galaxy R, which promises to allows users to expand the 8 GB internal memory to as much as 32 GB via its micro SD slot.
The phone was unveiled last week and the manufacturer has now released a video outlining some of the features the handset, which is still without an official UK release data, has to offer.
Indeed, Cnet.co.uk's Andrew Hoyle questions whether the device will ever be made available to people on these shores, stating: "It would undercut the Galaxy S 2, itself available for only £25 a month on some contracts."
He added "this is sad", noting that it has the potential to be used for gaming, social networking, ebooks and a music device, as well as sending texts and making phone calls.
The device could be a potential competitor to the dominance of the iPhone, which helped Apple achieve record profit of $7.31 billion (£4.5 billion) in the third quarter of this year.
