Mortal Kombat Blu-Ray to come with PS3 DLC 8 February 2011 15:35:16
This year sees the release of a series reboot of the long-running Mortal Kombat game franchise.
To mark the release, it has been announced that Warner Bros is to release both the Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation movies on Blu-Ray.
The Blu-Rays will be packaged and sold separately but both will include downloadable content (DLC) for the PS3 version of the game in the form of extra costumes for the Mortal Kombat characters.
However, while the Mortal Kombat game will also be available on the Xbox 360, it seems that the Microsoft console will not be included in the DLC offer.
Announced last year, the new Mortal Kombat game is out on February 18th.
"We can't wait for players to get their hands on Mortal Kombat," Ed Boon, creative director at developer NetherRealm Studios said recently.
"This game really is a response to what players have been demanding: mature presentation, reinvented 2D fighting mechanic and the best, most gruesome fatalities ever."
