BAFTA Game Awards nominations announced17 February 2011 15:31:07
The nominations for this year's BAFTA Game Awards have been revealed.
Some 44 different games have been recognised by the award organiser which together "represent some of the most popular, innovative and cutting-edge creativity in today's gaming industry".
Among the nominations are two of the past year's biggest hits - Assassin's Creed Brotherhood on the PS3, PC and Xbox 360 and Call of Duty: Black Ops, available on the PC, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS.
Both games are nominated for Action, Artistic Achievement, Multiplayer, Technical Innovation, and Use of Audio awards.
In addition, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood is nominated for Best Game and Gameplay, while Call of Duty: Black Ops got the nod in the Story category.
PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain also received several nominations and is up for six awards in total: Artistic Achievement, Best Game, Gameplay, Original Music, Story and Technical Innovation.
The British Academy Video Games Awards take place on March 16th.
