Apple to unveil iPad 2 in March?24 February 2011 18:26:42
The much rumoured iPad 2 could be officially unveiled by Apple as early as next week, it has been claimed.
According to All Things Digital's Kara Swisher, the firm will give the public its first look at the new tablet computer at an event on Wednesday (March 2nd).
She cites "multiple sources" as confirming the event - to be held in San Francisco - which will be used to showcase the successor to the hugely successful iPad.
There has been much speculation as to what features will be included on the iPad 2, with many predicting it to be thinner than its predecessor with an improved display, as well as front-facing camera and Facetime video chat support.
It is not yet known if Apple chief executive Steve Jobs will be attending the event after he announced he was taking time off due to ongoing health issues.
The news comes after Samsung recently unveiled the 10.1-inch version of its Galaxy Tab, seen by many as the principal rival to the iPad.
