People wanting to get their hands on an Xbox 360 S with a glossy finish may be wise to act quickly, as the console's appearance is set to change.

Director of programming for Xbox Live Larry Hryb, writing on his blog, responded to recent speculation that the company was to provide gamers with the option of a matte or glossy finish.

He pointed out that is "not the case" and that all new units will be given a matte finish.

"The consoles will start to arrive in stores over the coming weeks, so if you really love the idea of a glossy console don't wait much longer," he said.

Those who already own an Xbox 360 might be looking forward to the release of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which is set to hit stores across Europe on August 26th.

It focuses on the story of Adam Jensen, a man who has been "cybernetically augmented against his choice".
