Safari

The Apple iPad includes a full Safari web browser. View entire web pages in portrait or landscape on the large Multi-Touch screen. The crisp, clear display features vibrant colour and sharp text at a size that’s actually readable. When you rotate iPad to landscape, the page you’re viewing rotates too, then expands to fit the display. Magic.

With Safari browsing, your fingers do the directing. Flick up and down to view web pages; double-tap on sections to enlarge and enhance; pinch to zoom in or out; browse multiple pages with the fantastic thumbnail feature.

Mail

The iPad features a full Mail app, giving you access to your friends, family and colleagues wherever you are.

Holding the iPad in landscape view gives you a multi-pane view with mail preview and full inbox. Simply rotate to portrait to enlarge and concentrate on individual emails. A full keyboard can be easily accessed with a single tap - a keyboard that is nearly the same size as a notebook computer's.

iPad Mail supports all attachment formats and lets you open straight from the app - no saving and finding the file later. With full support for MobileMe, Google Mail, Microsoft Exchange, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, AOL and most industry-standard IMAP and POP email systems, you can access work and personal mails anywhere.

Photos

With the built-in Photos app on iPad, you can see and touch your photos in intuitive new ways. Your photo albums appear as tidy little stacks you can pinch to preview. Tap a stack, and the whole album opens up. From there you can scroll through thumbnails. Tap to view full screen. Or flip through photos one at a time.

iPad works seamlessly with Faces and Places in iPhoto for the Mac, so you can view your photos not only by date and event but also by who’s in them and where they were taken. Want to see all the pictures of your daughter? Tap her picture in Faces view and open an entire album full of photos of her. To see all the photos you snapped in London, tap the Places button and tap London. Your stack of photos appears above the London pin, and you can pinch or tap to view them. You can even focus in on specific locations like Trafalgar Square or Big Ben.

Videos

A beautiful 9.7-inch high-resolution display makes iPad perfect for watching any kind of video: from HD films and TV programmes to podcasts and music videos. Since iPad is essentially one big screen — with no distracting keypad or buttons — you feel completely immersed in whatever you’re watching. And you can keep watching for up to 10 hours, thanks to the lithium-polymer battery in iPad.

Tap the iTunes icon and you’ll find thousands of films — including HD films — ready and waiting. Tap and browse around. When you find a film you like, watch a preview. Music
