Founded in 1947 in Osaka, Japan, Sanyo Electronics has grown substantially since their first order of 5,000 electric bicycle lamps. Sanyo is an industry leader in the development and sale of consumer electronics, from refrigerators to High Definition camcorders. Sanyo's legacy was ensured in 2002 with the opening of the Sanyo Solar Ark, a giant solar energy station, solar lab and solar museum, in the centre of Japan.
