Mount & Blade is a single player PC game that combines action, role-playing and strategy elements in a unique blend. Combining a sophisticated, dynamic game world and intense medieval swordfighting action, Mount & Blade has you venturing through a world filled with daring enemies as well as friendly groups that will come to your aid or need yours. In a land torn by constant danger, raids and skirmishes, you will raise and lead your own war band, commanding dozens of hardened soldiers. You will hunt down your enemies following the tracks they leave behind. And you will fight epic battles where arrows cut the air with deadly hisses, axes and swords hack with fury, and horses and men clash into a violent melee.

The Mount & Blade: Warband expansion brings a much-wanted multiplayer mode into the mix.

We're not talking a piffling number of players for this mode however. Up to 64 - count 'em, 64 - users can engage in combat on the same map, in team deathmatch style battles. If you thought some of the enemies in the single-player overworld were challenging enough, try taking on several human opponents on horseback and see how you feel then!

You also get to be something of a rogue commander yourself, as Mount & Blade: Warband adds the ability to form a team of followers who will do your bidding as you see fit. As you gain more loyal people, you end up creating a faction and can assign Lords, too.

With Fire & Sword is the sequel to Mount & Blade: Warband. Be a mercenary or join one of the five battling factions to conquer, destroy or create empires. In an open sand box world you choose your allies, your enemies, what provinces to conquer, what castles to siege and what quests to embark on.With Fire & Sword also greatly builds and expands upon the highly regarded combat system from Mount & Blade: Warband. Firearms and battle formations, based off real-world military strategies, have been introduced to the battlefield. Also, muskets and pistols can now be used as sidearms in hand-to-hand combat to quickly drop your foes.In addition to the enhanced singleplayer mode, With Fire and Sword also provides a host of original multiplayer content including the new game mode: Captain.
